The Manufactured Ecosystems Exhibition is an exciting upcoming event at the University of Guelph, launching in July 2025 at the Zavitz Art Gallery. This interdisciplinary exhibition will showcase the collaborative work of artists, writers, and scientists who are reimagining the technologies of the future needed to address climate adaptation in the face of environmental collapse. The exhibition will explore creative climate solutions for a biomimetic future. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to bring this thought-provoking and innovative exhibit to the community.

Our Repository of Manufactured Ecosystems in Science Fictions. The current research’s aim is to create a website in the form of a digital repository of interactive texts. These literary texts are thematically apt to manufactured ecosystems, climate change, relationship between technology and environment as well as posthumanism. Research done by Dr. Peggy Karpouzou and Dr. Nikoleta Zampaki at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece.

“Wetland Ecosystem Services Necessary to Support Wildlife” by Hannah Hiemstra, which explores the role of wetlands in wildlife conservation through a wildlife-centered Ecosystem Services Framework. By blending scientific research with acrylic art, the project highlights the essential services wetlands provide and examines the potential of technology to enhance or replace these services in response to climate change.
